Musical goal- write metal songs with heavy influence from the likes of Maiden, Priest, Merciful Fate, Armored Saint, Dio, Sabbath, Helloween, Nightwish, Ghost, Grim Reaper, Scorpions, Burning Witches with a dash of Depeche Mode and Lady Gaga? Vocally speaking looking for someone with a dynamic range and clean vocals. Think more Freddie Mercury than Napalm Death.. Would like to add another guitarist who can shred (dual solos are always fun), as well as bass, drums, and possibly keyboards. Ultimately the songs are big, but not necessarily complex.
Why LGBTQIA+- I’ve played in a lot of metal bands and as a queer man I’ve seen a lot of homophobia/racism from band mates that, while not directed at me, I still found hurtful and distasteful. I know there is a large group of LGBTQ metal heads out there that don’t always feel included into the metal community. What I am wanting to do is shatter the myth that metal is only for cis/straight/white males (nothing against cis/straight/white males as I identified as such for a long time). I have songs sketched out musically with a lot of crunchy guitars and big choruses. Lyrically I am looking at VERY political social commentary cloaked in horror/goth/occult imagery.. Basically if you are a MAGA member or were terribly upset by the Barbie Movie, this may not be the music project for you. If you identify as LGBTQ or any other minority not represented by the metal scene, have a powerful voice (don’t necessarily need Halford or King Diamond vocal range, but that would be cool!), and have a theatrical flair, can play guitar, bass, drums, or keyboards, then I would like to hear from you. If you can send a demo that would put you at the front of the line as well. No addicts please. I don’t mind getting occasionally drunk or stoned, as long as it’s not hurting the music.
